Docteur / Post

PhD, Postdoc ENSEIRB-MATMECA is associated with research laboratories. To enquire about PhD or postdoc studies, in one of these labs, you can look at the websites to determine which research team(s) would best fit your interests. If you wish, you can write us and ask us to publish your application on ENSEIRB-MATMECA applicants news group (which is available to all ENSEIRB-MATMECA people only). This application should include at least:
  • a letter of motivation;
  • your résumé (curriculum-vitae);
  • a statement of your research interests, and which lab and lab research teams or people you would like to work with;
  • when you would like to start.

We shall notify our three international department coordinators, so that they can forward your application to the relevant lab(s) and/or research team(s) (who don't have direct access to ENSEIRB-MATMECA applicants news group), but you are strongly advised to get in touch with them directly, in order to eventually come up with a PhD or postdoc project. Actual registration is handled by the doctoral school of the lab (please look at each lab website and/or ask international department coordinator for exact registration procedure): of course, for a PhD, you need to find a supervisor willing to be your thesis director first.

Note that the system has recently changed: "DEA" has been replaced with a "specialization master" (same duration of one year including courses and research project); then the PhD usually takes three years. It is often a good idea to do a "specialization master" before enrolling in a PhD, as it gives you the opportunity to meet potential PhD supervisors, but it is not always required, for students who can convince a PhD supervisor that they already have the appropriate level.
