You are now almost ready to arrive:
- your application, submitted throug the Share your application process, has been accepted;
- your Housing request, submitted through your Google docs individual folder, has been satisfied, and you have received the CROUS notification in your folder;
- you have already purchased, or are about to purchase, your plane or train tickets.
What should you do now?
A good idea is to contact Clubee (see the homepage: Club des Echanges avec l'Etranger - Foreign Exchange Club), who will help you when you arrive, regarding practical problems (enter your room, register at ENSEIRB-MATMECA, get a meal, ...), and initially offer to pick you up at Bordeaux Mérignac airport, or Bordeaux Gare Saint-Jean train station, provided you can arrange a rendez-vous with them, sufficiently ahead of time.
If you have not yet chosen your precise date of arrival, nor purchased your tickets, you might want to check our Academic calendar: for example, the school is closed for summer vacation from 24 July to 23 August 2010, so that a lot of students are away for vacation. Hence, it may not be easy, although not totally impossible, to get a pickup rendez-vous during this period.
How to get a rendez-vous with Clubee for airport or train pickup
- watch your Google docs individual folder and associated mail for an invitation to share Google docs Bordeaux arrival agenda:
- If you have not received such an invitation, and need one, please notify us through your Whiteboard(Tableau blanc) in your individual folder;
- register to Google agenda service if necessary, and accept Bordeaux arrival agenda;
- Please be aware that Bordeaux arrival agenda is shared by incoming students, Clubee and other students designated by Clubee, and ENSEIRB-MATMECA staff. Hence, the information you provide may be seen by all these persons;
- share the details of your arrival by creating an event on the day of your arrival on Bordeaux arrival agenda:
- Object: John Doe arriving from Hawai University;
- Date: be as specific as possible on date and time if you already have your plane or train tickets; otherwise, you can refine the information later on in coordination with Clubee;
- Location: normally, this should be either Bordeaux Mérignac airport (try to indicate which terminal, from A and B) or Bordeaux Gare Saint-Jean (point de rendez-vous = meeting point);
- Agenda: select Bordeaux arrival;
- Description: use this area to indicate your flight or train information. It is good to indicate the sequence of your flight numbers, with the date and time and location of departure and the date and time and location of arrival, in reverse chronological order, if you have several connecing flights, as this may help track you in case of delay; same for train information. Clubee will eventually communicate with you through this area, for instance to let you know the name of the student who will pick you up. It may be useful to provide your email address within this area; alternatively, you may want to write to Clubee.
